In January 1963, our father, Benjamin E. Stockwell, opened the front doors of what is known as Stockwell Law Offices. The firm has had several names in the past but one thing that remained constant was that there was always a Stockwell at this location. In 1990 my sister, Peggy, and I became owners of the office and carried on the tradition that our father began by providing quality, ethical legal representation for persons with legal problems.

When the firm started my father and the other lawyers in the firm handled a wide variety of legal problems for people. They ranged from bankruptcy to civil actions, mal-practice cases to criminal cases to family law. Through its evolution over the past 40 years my sister and I have chosen to limit the areas of laws we practice to family law, criminal law, personal injury, paternity, guardianship, wills and expungement law. This has allowed us to become more knowledgeable in these areas and as such provide a better service to you. Currently the firm has two attorneys, myself and my sister and two support staff.

We are still located in the same building in which our father opened this law practice and plan to remain at this same location for many years to come. We have always felt that there is a need to return something to the community by doing volunteer work.

Throughout the years our firm has been involved in the Cleveland County Bar Association and the Oklahoma Bar Association. Our father was a past Vice-President of the Oklahoma Bar Association and Peggy and I have both been President of the Cleveland County Bar Association, in addition to serving on numerous committees and task forces for the Oklahoma Bar Association and helping structure a future for lawyers in Oklahoma. We both participate in civic endeavors. We donate many hours of our time and knowledge in assisting local civic and non-profit groups. Currently I am chairman of the Cleveland County Community Sentencing Planning Counsel and a member of the Cleveland County Drug Court Team. Peggy currently is a member of the Cleveland County Board of Health. In addition to these activities we routinely assist our children’s schools and fund raising activities. Our commitment to our family, our community and our clients is very strong and will remain that way.

If you are in need of legal services, please give us a call. If we are not able to help you, we will certainly assistant you in finding competent representation for whatever legal problem you may have.
